Location:
Ottawa, Ontario, with regular travel to deployment sites Team: Technology and Development Schedule: Full-time Our Mission Lumenix develops hardware, software, sensor systems, and artificial intelligence solutions for healthcare and other industries across North America. Our mission is to improve safety, operational efficiency, and quality of life through innovative, practical applications of technology. Our Artificially Intelligent Monitoring System (AIMS) applies privacy-preserving ambient AI to healthcare environments, providing actionable intelligence that helps clinical teams improve patient safety and care. Lumenix is expanding its technology platform and pursuing opportunities in both domestic and international markets. Our Culture Lumenix values technical excellence, collaboration, initiative, and practical problem-solving. Our multidisciplinary teams bring together diverse skills and perspectives to address complex challenges. We encourage independent thinking, qualified growth, and a shared commitment to delivering meaningful results for our clients. Our History Founded in 2012, Lumenix initially developed a national platform combining lighting, software, and sensor technologies for clean technology and property technology applications. Following the acquisition of AIMS technology in 2020, the company expanded its focus to include ambient AI solutions for clinical environments. AIMS uses a network of ceiling-mounted devices and infrared-based 3D sensors to anonymously perceive human movement and positioning without collecting personally identifiable information. The platform delivers real-time intelligence designed to help healthcare teams prevent adverse events, improve health outcomes, and support clinical staff. You You are a technically capable professional who combines strong CAD design skills with practical experience in technical installations and field operations. You are comfortable interpreting architectural drawings, developing detailed equipment layouts, conducting site surveys, and coordinating installation activities. You understand how physical environments influence the performance and reliability of technical systems. You can identify installation constraints, anticipate deployment challenges, and translate engineering requirements into practical, executable plans. You are equally comfortable working independently on detailed CAD layouts and coordinating technicians, contractors, and client representatives at deployment sites. Role Summary Lumenix is seeking a Field Operations Lead to oversee the planning, layout, and execution of AIMS deployments across client sites. This position combines two equally important

responsibilities:
technical layout design using CAD and field operations management. You will be responsible for drafting AIMS deployment layouts from architectural drawings, determining appropriate sensor and equipment placement, and ensuring designs comply with the system's technical and operational requirements. You will also conduct site audits, coordinate installations, oversee calibration and commissioning, and verify deployment readiness. Working closely with engineering, hardware, and client stakeholders,

you will develop the standardized design and deployment procedures needed to support multiple simultaneous installations and scale AIMS deployments to thousands of nodes.

Key Responsibilities
CAD Design and Deployment Planning (Approximately 50%)
- Develop detailed AIMS deployment layouts using CAD software based on architectural floor plans, site surveys, and system design requirements.
- Determine appropriate placement and quantities of AIMS nodes, sensors, networking equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
- Evaluate sensor coverage, fields of view, physical obstructions, ceiling conditions, cable routing, network distance limitations, and power requirements when developing deployment layouts.
- Review architectural drawings and proposed installations to identify technical limitations, coverage gaps, and unsuitable deployment configurations before installation begins.
- Conduct site surveys and technical audits to validate architectural information, assess installation feasibility, and confirm that proposed layouts reflect actual site conditions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate deployment drawings, equipment schedules, installation documentation, and as-built records.
- Coordinate with engineering to resolve unusual site conditions, technical constraints, or proposed configurations that fall outside established deployment standards. Field Operations and Deployment Execution (Approximately 50%)
- Plan and coordinate AIMS deployments from site readiness and installation preparation through calibration, commissioning, and final acceptance.
- Oversee field technicians, contractors, and installation activities to ensure work is completed according to approved layouts, technical requirements, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with hospital facilities, biomedical engineering, infection prevention, IT, and other stakeholders to confirm site readiness and installation requirements.
- Establish and maintain standardized installation, calibration, commissioning, and quality assurance procedures.
- Verify that installed equipment conforms to approved layouts and technical specifications, and coordinate resolution of installation deficiencies.
- Manage deployment logistics, equipment requirements, schedules, and installation resources across multiple concurrent sites.
- Ensure field activities comply with applicable safety requirements, facility procedures, and relevant installation standards, with regulated work performed by appropriately qualified personnel.
- Work with engineering and hardware teams to identify recurring deployment challenges and improve system installation, serviceability, and deployment efficiency. Skills
- Strong CAD drafting and technical layout design capabilities, including the ability to interpret and modify architectural floor plans.

- Sound spatial reasoning and an understanding of equipment placement, physical coverage, and building infrastructure constraints.
- Practical understanding of low-voltage systems, network infrastructure, cabling, and building-integrated technology.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple concurrent deployment projects.
- Ability to identify technical and logistical problems before they affect installation or system performance.
- Professional communication skills and confidence working with technical teams, contractors, and institutional clients.
- Strong documentation, quality assurance, and process management skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound technical judgment, and lead installation teams effectively. Qualifications
- Five or more years of combined experience in technical layout design, field operations, systems installation, or a comparable technical deployment role.
- Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable professional CAD software, including experience producing technical equipment layouts from architectural drawings.
- Experience interpreting architectural, electrical, or low-voltage system drawings and translating them into practical installation plans.
- Practical experience with networked devices, low-voltage systems, sensor installations, or similar building-integrated technologies.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating technical installations, managing field personnel or contractors, and verifying installation quality.
- Experience conducting technical site surveys and assessing installation feasibility.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly.
- Post-secondary education in engineering technology, architectural technology, electronics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience designing or installing systems in hospitals, long-term care facilities, or other occupied clinical environments.
- Familiarity with hospital credentialing, infection prevention, and facility access requirements.
- Experience with sensor placement, surveillance coverage design, IoT systems, or distributed sensor networks.
- Knowledge of structured cabling, PoE, low-voltage power distribution, and network infrastructure.
- Experience developing standardized installation procedures and deployment documentation.
- Working at Heights certification or relevant trade qualifications. The actual base salary compensation will vary depending on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job-related factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and education or training.
