Stud Welder / Group Leader

Location:
Ottawa, Ontario Fab HR is currently recruiting on behalf of a client in the manufacturing industry for an experienced Stud Welder / Group Leader to join their team in Ottawa. This is a hands-on position where the primary responsibility is stud welding, with some additional duties related to coordinating daily activities and monitoring production flow. The successful candidate will be a dependable, organized individual who takes pride in their work and can help ensure production runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform stud welding on custom metal enclosures and fabricated metal products.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot stud welding equipment.
- Ensure weld quality meets engineering drawings and production specifications.
- Monitor production flow and ensure jobs progress according to schedule.
- Assist with organizing daily work priorities and coordinating shop activities.
- Communicate production delays, equipment issues, and quality concerns to management.
- Assist with preparing the shop and equipment for scheduled shutdowns.
- Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment.
- Assist with other welding and fabrication duties as required.



Qualifications
- Previous stud welding experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in metal fabrication or a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Knowledge of stud welding equipment setup and troubleshooting preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to monitor production progress.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Previous experience coordinating or guiding other employees is an asset.
- Forklift experience is an asset Candidate Profile The ideal can work independently while taking on some responsibility for daily production coordination.
