The successful candidate will provide courteous customer service, handle payments efficiently, and help create a positive shopping experience for customers. Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Operate the cash register and point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately.
- Calculate change, issue receipts, and verify transaction totals.
- Answer basic questions about products and prices.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout counter.
- Check pricing information and report discrepancies to the appropriate team member.
- Assist customers with routine checkout inquiries.
- Follow store procedures for cash handling and payment processing.
- Maintain a qualified and welcoming environment throughout the shift. Qualifications
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible work habits.
- Ability to learn cash register and POS procedures.
- Comfortable working in a customer-facing retail environment.
- Previous cashier or retail experience is an asset but is not required.
