Progressive Ford is seeking a reliable, hands-on Undercoating Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for applying rustproofing and undercoating products to dealership vehicles while assisting with general service department and dealership duties, including parts runs, sublet deliveries, tire storage, and shop maintenance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with vehicles, pays attention to detail, and takes pride in contributing to a well-organized and efficient workplace.

What you'll do
day-to-day
- Apply rustproofing and undercoating products to cars, SUVs, trucks, and other dealership vehicles using spray guns, wands, and related equipment.
- Prepare vehicles for undercoating, including positioning vehicles on lifts, preparing surfaces, masking areas, and gathering necessary materials.
- Remove and reinstall splash shields, access plugs, and other components as required to complete applications properly.
- Protect vehicle components and painted surfaces from overspray and ensure applications meet dealership quality standards.
- Inspect completed work to ensure thorough coverage and identify any areas requiring attention.
- Operate lifts, spray equipment, and tools safely and in accordance with established procedures.
- Clean and maintain spray equipment, tools, workstations, and shop areas.




- Complete parts pickups and deliveries between dealership locations and external suppliers as required.
- Transport vehicles and components to and from external service providers for sublet work.
- Assist with seasonal tire handling, organization, movement, and storage.
- Move and position dealership vehicles as required.
- Assist with general shop cleaning, organization, and maintenance.
- Provide support to the service department and other dealership operations as needed.
- Follow all applicable workplace health and safety procedures, including the proper use and handling of undercoating products and personal protective equipment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned. What we're looking for
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and a driving record that meets dealership insurance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to take initiative.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable performing physical work, including standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and handling tires and other materials.
- Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and adapt to changing operational priorities.
- Previous experience in automotive rustproofing, undercoating, detailing, tire service, or general automotive work is an asset.
- Familiarity with hand tools, spray equipment,



and automotive shop equipment is an asset.
- Willingness to learn new skills and assist with a variety of dealership tasks.

What We Offer

- Compensation: $18.00–$20.00+ per hour, based on experience.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Full-time employment with a consistent weekday schedule.
