- 18:30) Overtime Methodology: Ontario ESA ## Site Overview Queen's University Libraries serve as a vibrant academic hub for students, faculty, and campus visitors. This position offers a professional, customer-focused workplace where maintaining safety and accessible support helps foster a secure learning community. ## What You'll Be Doing
- Greet staff, students, and visitors politely and assist with wayfinding.
- Conduct proactive, regular patrols across the campus library site.
- Ensure staff, visitors, and vendors follow Queen's University policies and safety protocols.
- Monitor site surveillance to maintain a secure environment.
- Complete accurate shift logs and detailed incident reports.
- Remain calm and act effectively during emergency situations.
- Follow specific instructions and established safety procedures in a dynamic setting.
- Perform additional support duties as assigned. ## Must Haves
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Valid First Aid & CPR
- Level C certification from a WSIB-approved vendor.
- Proof of minimum double COVID-19 vaccination.
- Copy of immunization records (MMR, Varicella, and Step 1 & 2 TB Skin Tests).
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- At least 6 months of customer service experience.
- Ability to commit to the position for a minimum of 6 months.
- Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) and Use of Force (UOF) certifications, or ability to attend a 4-day weekday certification class upon hire (paid by Paladin with a 6-month commitment contract). ## Nice-to-Haves
- Bilingualism in French and English.
