Maintain hospital grounds, safety, and cleanliness as a Department Aide operating outdoor power equipment and inspecting exterior spaces. Work supports Health Sciences North properties.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Facilities Management, the Department Aide maintains lawns, landscaped areas, parking lots, and exterior fixtures. Duties include routine inspections, hazard assessments, seasonal grounds care, and equipment maintenance. The position also supports safe winter operations and accessible routes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate lawnmowers, tractors, trimmers, and snowblowers safely
- Inspect grounds for hazards and maintenance concerns
- Maintain lawns, parking lots, walkways, and exterior spaces
- Explicit snow and ice from accessible routes
- Report equipment defects and unsafe conditions
Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Three months of recent relevant experience preferred
- Safe outdoor equipment operation ability
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Successful Criminal Records and Judicial Matters Check
