Deliver comprehensive patient assessments and treatment as a Nurse Practitioner with Island Health, working 0830 to 1630 in a regular full time position.

The Nurse Practitioner diagnoses diseases, disorders, and conditions while initiating treatment and prescribing medications within regulatory standards. Working autonomously and interdependently, this position collaborates with physicians, social workers, nursing staff, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. The role also supports evidence-based strategies, referrals, and health service improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess patients, clients, and residents comprehensively
- Diagnose conditions and initiate treatment
- Prescribe medications within statutory and regulatory requirements




- Refer patients to physicians and health professionals
- Evaluate service outcomes through peer and self-review

Requirements:

- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives
- Practicing Nurse Practitioner registrant status
- Two years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience
- Ability to communicate with patients and families
- Ability to lead and collaborate within teams
