Workplace Supports and Prevention (WSP) branch's vision is to work together to create a healthy and safe work environment. It partners HR portfolio teams and managers to support a consistently applied healthy and safe work environment across departments.

Competencies are behaviors that are essential to reach our goals in serving Albertans.

We encourage you to have an in depth understanding of the competencies that are required for this opportunity and to be prepared to demonstrate them during the recruitment process.

- Agility: Responds effectively to changing priorities: Reassesses priorities and adjusts quickly when urgent requests, emerging risks, or new information changes what needs attention.
- Drive for Results: Keeps important work moving: Takes ownership of timelines, follows up on outstanding actions, identifies risks to delivery, and helps ensure accurate work reaches decision-makers when required.
- Build Collaborative Environments: Brings people together around shared outcomes: Coordinates across programs and corporate functions, encourages information sharing, and helps resolve gaps or misunderstandings that could delay progress.
- Develop Networks: Builds relationships that support timely decisions: Maintains effective connections with leaders, program areas,

and corporate partners so the right expertise and information can be accessed quickly.

Role Responsibilities

You will also coordinate executive briefings, Action Requests, branch priorities, budgets, forecasts, and cross-program initiatives.

In this role, you will:

Issues Management and Executive Advice

- Identify, monitor, and coordinate operational, emerging, and sensitive issues affecting LR & OHS and WSP.
- Assess issues for urgency, sensitivity, operational and reputational risk, cross-branch impacts, and escalation requirements.

Briefings and Action Requests

- Lead the development and coordination of executive briefings, issue notes, executive summaries, response strategies, and related materials.
- Present complex information clearly, including the issue, context, risks, impacts, options, and recommended approach.

Branch Coordination and Stakeholder Liaison

- Serve as a central coordination point between the Executive Directors' offices and branch program areas.
- Work with Directors, program leads, and corporate partners to support timely and coordinated responses.

Planning, Priorities, and Continuous Improvement

- Support branch planning, reporting, priority tracking, and executive follow-up.
- Monitor key commitments, timelines, dependencies, and emerging pressures.
- Coordinate budget preparation and forecasting activities for LR & OHS and WSP.
