Registered Occupational Therapists can apply clinical expertise in mental health and substance use services within Northern Health’s community-based care.

Under manager supervision, this Occupational Therapist supports individuals with complex mental health illnesses, co-occurring addictions, and medical conditions. The role uses evidence-based assessment, recovery principles, psychosocial rehabilitation, and diverse interventions. Services are delivered independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess clients’ occupational performance using evidence-based approaches
- Plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-oriented occupational therapy services
- Manage complex caseloads and maintain clinical records
- Educate and counsel clients and families




- Contribute to quality improvement, research, and service development

Requirements:

- Current registration with British Columbia’s College of Health and Care Professionals
- Eligibility for Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists membership
- Two years’ recent related mental health experience
- Valid British Columbia driver’s licence and personal vehicle
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and the Mental Health Act
