The facility maintenance team ensures the smooth operation of all spaces at a busy 24/7 airport, keeping terminals, offices, and other buildings safe, functional, and well-maintained. They handle repairs, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to support airport operations and passenger comfort. This team ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operations, supporting 24/7 airport activities and driving smart building initiatives.
What Are Some Of The Responsibilities
- Lead the design, review, and optimization of medium- and low-voltage distribution systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, motor control centres, grounding systems, and backup power systems.
- Lead and validate power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, harmonics, grounding, voltage-drop, and contingency analysis, and translate findings into corrective actions.
- Approve complex engineering designs, calculations, specifications, single-line diagrams, protection philosophies, relay settings, control logic, and SCADA integration criteria.
- Investigate major power system failures and recurring electrical issues, determine root causes, and define repair, replacement, operating, and reliability improvements.
- Act as the electrical engineering subject matter expert for capital and infrastructure projects by defining technical requirements, reviewing consultant and contractor deliverables, witnessing testing, and authorizing technical acceptance.
- Interpret and apply electrical codes, engineering standards, utility requirements, and safety regulations, and lead hazard, switching, isolation, and energized-work reviews.
- Advise leaders on capacity, reliability, outage exposure, infrastructure constraints, lifecycle priorities, and capital investment options using clear, risk-based recommendations.
- Develop engineering standards and evaluate technologies that improve redundancy, fault isolation, automation, power quality, system visibility, and long-term resiliency.
What Do You Need To Bring
- You’ll need to be eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC, don’t worry – we’ll help you through this For more details, check out: RAIC Program and Application Information
