Investigate low-carbon concrete materials at the NRC through cement chemistry and laboratory research. This two-year fellowship may offer limited hybrid work arrangements.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will investigate ground recycled glass as a supplementary cementitious material. Research focuses on hydration kinetics, pozzolanic reactivity, concrete performance, life cycle assessment, and techno-economic assessment. The work supports decarbonization and circular economy objectives in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute experimental research on ground recycled glass
- Investigate hydration kinetics and pozzolanic reactivity
- Evaluate fresh and hardened concrete mixture performance
- Conduct life cycle and techno-economic assessments
- Analyze and disseminate research findings
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in civil engineering, materials science, or related discipline
- Significant experience researching cementitious materials
- Experience with laboratory experiments and analytical characterization
- Experience evaluating durability and long-term concrete performance
- Experience with experimental design and statistical analysis
Apply cement chemistry, concrete testing, and research expertise to advance recycled glass solutions for low-carbon concrete.
