Lead development engineering in Nanaimo through civil engineering expertise, proposal review, and independent judgment. This permanent full time position reports to the Director, Planning & Development.

The City of Nanaimo seeks a Manager, Development Engineering to direct its Development Engineering Section. The position oversees planning, organizing, direction, and control within Planning & Development. Complex issues and matters of major impact are referred to the Director.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan Development Engineering Section activities and priorities
- Organize section work within Planning & Development
- Direct and control Development Engineering operations
- Review development proposals using independent judgment
- Refer complex issues to the Director

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline
- Minimum five years of related experience
- Proven management supervisory experience
- Eligibility for Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia membership
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence
