Advance smart battery systems through embedded sensing and power electronics research as a full-time, on-site NRC postdoctoral fellow. Develop hardware and software for electrified transportation.
This two-year postdoctoral fellowship makes you the primary researcher for NRC’s next-generation battery management system. You will expand a versatile BMS platform, integrate fiber Bragg grating sensors, and develop active cell balancing. The work supports energy storage research and produces working hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand NRC’s battery management system hardware and software
- Embed FBG sensor arrays into battery modules
- Connect sensors for real-time thermal mapping
- Develop and benchmark active cell-balancing hardware
- Publish,
present, and pursue patents from research
Requirements:
- PhD in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering
- Research experience in energy storage, power electronics, or embedded systems
- Programming experience with Python, MATLAB, or C/C++
- PhD obtained within three years or completion within six months
- Ability to work full-time physically at the NRC location
Apply battery research, embedded sensing, and power electronics expertise to NRC’s next-generation BMS platform.
