Operate hazardous-materials vehicles for Republic Services while managing secure waste pickups, load securement, and regulatory documentation. Use box trucks and tractor-trailers.
This HazMat Field Driver/Technician transports bulk and containerized hazardous and non-hazardous waste to designated generator sites. The position operates roll-offs, tankers, gravel trains, tractor-trailers, and box trucks. Duties include LTL pickups, material processing, inspections, customer communication, and technology use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste to generator sites
- Perform LTL pickups using assigned commercial vehicles
- Maintain logbooks, permits, trip reports, and waste manifests
- Ensure accurate placarding, labeling, segregation,
and load securement
- Complete DOT or MOT vehicle inspections and maintain equipment
Requirements:
- Class AZ Commercial Driver’s license required
- Hazardous material and tanker endorsements required or obtainable within ninety days
- Skill using hand and shop tools and instruments
- Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and handle diverse responsibilities
