Role summary

Lead Buffer's marketing as our first dedicated marketing hire. You will build employer and employee awareness, run performance and content channels, and turn product messaging into campaigns that attract Canadian employers and keep our brand clear and compliant.

Responsibilities

- Own the marketing plan across website, content, LinkedIn, email, and paid experiments
- Develop clear positioning for employer decision-makers (HR, finance, people ops) and for employee-facing education




- Plan and run campaigns; track KPIs such as qualified employer leads, content engagement, and conversion
- Partner with founders on messaging that stays accurate to product facts and compliance boundaries
- Build a lightweight content engine (blog, LinkedIn, stats assets) that supports SEO and partnerships
- Manage budgets for experiments; report results and recommend next bets
- Coordinate creative and agency or freelancer support when needed

Requirements
- 4+ years in marketing, growth, or demand generation, ideally B2B or fintech/SaaS
- Hands-on experience with digital channels (LinkedIn, search, email, content)
- Ability to write clear copy and brief creative without a large team
- Comfort with analytics (GA4 or similar), CRM or spreadsheet tracking, and basic attribution
- Solid judgment on brand voice and compliance-sensitive claims
- Authorized to work in Canada; based in Canada (BC preferred)

Nice to haves
- Employer-benefits, HR tech, or Canadian financial services marketing experience
- SEO and content strategy experience
- Experience launching a brand at seed or pre-seed stage
- Design fluency (Canva, Figma) for rapid asset creation
