Are you an ICD.D graduate or have a CPA designation living within the South Georgian Bay area (Blue Mountains, Collingwood, Clearview, Elmvale, Wasaga Beach) and passionate about community health and the well being of residents in South Georgian Bay? The South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre (SGBCHC) is seeking a volunteer Board member with high financial acumen to fulfil the role of Treasurer and Chair of our Resources Committee to help lead our mission of delivering equitable and accessible healthcare services to the community we serve.

As a leader within our Board of Directors, you will contribute to a culture of shared responsibility, bringing your unique perspectives to the table alongside other resolute volunteer board members. Together, you will help develop and implement our strategic plan, monitor financial & human resources performance and mitigate risks to ensure sustainability of our operations.

What we are looking for:

As a resident within our catchment area with a commitment to the following:

- Improving healthcare access and equity.
- Understanding the social determinants of health (e.g., income, housing, food security) and how these factors affect the health of individuals.
- Shaping the healthcare landscape in South Georgian Bay.

Training and experience in the following: i.



Financial Management - required ii. Capital Project Management – required iii. Human Resources Management – an asset iv. Fundraising – an asset

If you are a recent ICD.D graduate or have a CPA designation, no previous Board experience is required; however, individuals with Board experience would be considered an asset.

Time commitment & terms:

Board terms are 1 to 3 years with a total term limit of 6 years as follows:

- A mix of in-person (Board meetings) and virtual (Committee meetings), offering flexibility for Board members.
- September to June - two meetings per month (one Committee ahead of one Board), each up to 2 hours in length in the early evening.
- Required time for meeting preparation.

This is a volunteer (unpaid) position. Final Reminder: Board members must live, work or study within The Blue Mountains, Collingwood, Clearview, Elmvale, Wasaga Beach) or surrounding areas.
