About the Role

Source Machine is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our afternoon shift, specializing in large flat-bed CNC lathes.

We operate a busy, high-production machine shop with over 30 CNC machines, manufacturing precision components for the oilfield and industrial sectors.

We are looking for a skilled machinist with at least 5 years of experience programming, setting up, and operating Siemens-controlled flat-bed CNC lathes or equivalent machines.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can work independently, troubleshoot machining challenges, and keep production moving efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

- Independently program, set up, and operate large CNC flat-bed lathes (VDF, TUR, Weiler, or equivalent).
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Siemens controls or similar systems.
- Machine large, long, and heavy components to tight tolerances.
- Select tooling, establish workholding, and optimize machining processes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.;
- Perform first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to improve cycle times and quality.
- Maintain accurate production records and follow established quality procedures.
- Keep machines and work areas clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications





- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience programming and setting up CNC flat-bed lathes.
- Robust experience with Siemens CNC controls or equivalent programming systems.
- Proven ability to independently program, set up, and run machines without supervision.
- Strong knowledge of CNC turning, tooling, speeds and feeds, and workholding.
- Experience machining large or long components.
- Ability to read blueprints and work to tight tolerances.
- Proficient with precision measuring equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Reliable, organized, and committed to quality and productivity.

Preferred Experience:

- VDF, TUR, or Weiler flat-bed CNC lathes.
- Oilfield components, tubular products, and large-diameter turning.
- Overhead crane and forklift operation.
