Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst

Our client is a mining operation based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The organization is seeking an experienced finance professional to join its site finance team, supporting financial planning, reporting, forecasting and operational decision-making across the mine.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will join the team as a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst, responsible for maintaining and managing business analysis, financial controls, forecasting and reporting processes for the mine.

Prepare weekly and monthly cash forecasts and monthly funding requests for the Head Office

- Prepare monthly budget-versus-actual reporting and supporting financial analysis
- Prepare monthly reporting templates and reporting packs for Head Office




- Develop monthly internal management reporting packs for site review
- Lead the mine site's annual budgeting process from May through September
- Understand applicable accounting policies and support ongoing compliance
- Maintain confidentiality of corporate information
- Comply with applicable BC mining safety and health requirements as well as site safety processes, procedures and standards

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred

- Solid financial planning, analysis, budgeting and forecasting capabilities
- Ability to succeed in an international, fast-paced operating environment
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and pivot tables
- SAP experience considered an asset
- Previous Finance Business Analyst experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity is preferred
