As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our Waterproofing division to take on a broader range of building envelope and below-grade projects, and we are hiring a Senior Estimator to lead its estimating function.This is an opportunity to play a key role in a growing division inside a stable company: you will influence estimating processes, develop industry relationships, and contribute directly to the division’s long-term success.Position SummaryReporting to the Vice President, Estimating & Preconstruction, the Senior Estimator will lead estimating for commercial waterproofing and related building envelope projects. The role requires deep technical knowledge of waterproofing systems, solid commercial awareness, and the ability to prepare accurate, competitive estimates while supporting the division’s strategic growth. You will be equally comfortable preparing detailed estimates, engaging with clients and consultants, evaluating subcontractor and supplier pricing, identifying project risk, and helping improve estimating procedures and best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesLead estimating for commercial and institutional waterproofing projectsReview tender documents, specifications, architectural and structural drawings, geotechnical information and contract requirementsPrepare detailed quantity take-offs for labour, materials, equipment and subcontracted workSolicit, review, evaluate and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractorsDevelop accurate project budgets, cost estimates and competitive tender submissionsIdentify value engineering opportunities and alternative waterproofing solutionsAssess project risk, site conditions, constructability and appropriate pricing strategiesAttend pre-tender meetings,



site visits and client or consultant meetings as requiredWork closely with project management to ensure a smooth handover following awardBuild and maintain relationships with general contractors, consultants, architects, engineers, suppliers and manufacturersHelp develop estimating systems, cost databases, productivity rates and standard costing modelsMonitor market conditions, material pricing, labour costs and industry trendsProvide technical input on waterproofing specifications, system selection and installation requirementsMentor junior estimators and support the development of estimating capability as the division growsContribute to business development, client presentations and strategic planningMaintain a high standard of professionalism, accuracy and confidentiality throughout the tendering processRequired Qualifications8+ years of estimating experience in commercial waterproofing, below-grade waterproofing, roofing or building envelope constructionStrong technical knowledge of commercial waterproofing systems, including: below-grade and foundation waterproofing; hot-applied rubberized asphalt waterproofing; cold-applied liquid andfluid-applied membranes; self-adhered sheet membranes; bentonite systems;plaza deck, podium, balcony and traffic-bearing waterproofing; pedestrian and vehicular traffic coatings; dampproofing and foundation protection; drainage boards, protection boards and insulation; air barriers and related building envelope systemsThorough understanding of commercial construction practices, waterproofing specifications and contract documentationAbility to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil and shop drawingsExperience estimating projects ranging from approximately $250,000 to $10 million or moreStrong understanding of waterproofing installation methods, sequencing,
