Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $70,000.00 AnnuallyThe Jr. Estimator analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to aid in the preparation of accurate, profitable electrical estimating, budgeting time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services by performing the duties listed below.Role and ResponsibilitiesReceives drawings from contractor for bidding.Provides take-offs to complete estimates, with supervision.Performs actual counts of materials required from drawings.Reviews data to determine material and labour requirements and prepares itemized lists.Sends faxes to suppliers requesting quotation for materials.Receives and sorts of faxes and pricing confirmations from suppliers.Assists Project Managers with Change Notice estimates as required.Assists with the closings of the job by gathering and compiling information in relation to time constraints.Helps other staff members within the departmentPrepare and maintain directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractorsConsults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.Interfaces with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates.Skills and QualificationsTwo years' experience in the electrical contracting industry involving take offs, ORLicensed electrician with take-off experience, ORSuccessful completion of Estimating program at recognized post-secondary institution and a minimum of 1 year of construction site experience, OREquivalent combination of education and experience.Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
