The Assistant Technical Director reports to the Production Manager and Technical Director. This full time permanent position supports production operations through technical paperwork, procurement, crew scheduling, and equipment management. The work spans the Max Bell Theatre and other venues, with weekend and evening hours during the season.
Key Responsibilities: Support the Production Department, Technical Director, and Production Manager
Cost, source, and procure production supplies and materials
Produce CAD plans, construction drawings, rigging plans, and schedules




Schedule and supervise house and casual crew
Lead technical responsibility for assigned outside-venue productions
Requirements: Three-plus years on a professional theatre stage
Solid Vectorworks CAD drafting proficiency
Theatre production and technical equipment knowledge
Solid communication, organization, and project management skills
IATSE or other unionized crew familiarity
Use CAD drafting, technical production, and crew coordination skills to help Theatre Calgary deliver productions throughout its season.
