With over 8,000 employees in 25 District officesacross Canada, and 370,000 employees globally, wepossess the experience and knowledge to offer a broad range of expert services including: On-site Guarding, Mobile Patrol Guarding, Leading Technology Solutions, Remote Guarding, and Investigations.We are seeking Security Guard for the Strathmore area.Overnight shifts: Monday to Wednesday and alternate Sunday from 2000 to 0800$18.00 – pay rate per hourWe value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified people to apply.https://www.Securitas.Ca/careers/security-guardThis job posting is for an existing vacancy or vacancies and remains open until filledRESPONSIBILITIES:Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, its assets, and personnel.Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protective devices and fire control equipment.Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.Controls access to client sites or facility through the admittance process.Patrols assigned sites on foot or in vehicles; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems,



and unauthorized persons.Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client's property and assets.Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.Use computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic training.Maintains focus and awareness while working in a stressful environment, which includes noise from alarms, machinery and people, crowd distractions, time pressure, in order to preserve the qualified ability to identify and locate potentially life‐threatening situations and make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations.Protect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.Conducts inbound/outbound package inspections.Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for the site and commensurate with their level of training.QUALIFICATIONS:Must have valid provincial Security Guard LicenseWorking knowledge of security operations and proceduresProven excellent English language skills, both verbal and writtenStrong interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent organizational skillsAble to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.Basic computer skills such as the ability to use Microsoft Office.Able to conduct lengthy interior and exterior patrols, climbing stairs and walking up inclinesMust have excellent customer service and communication skills.Sensitive to the nature of the shelter and the experiences of residentsAble to engage with residents in a respectful, non‐judgmental mannerAbility to handle stressful situations with tact and diplomacyCapable of using CCTV systemFirst Aid/ CPR is considered an asset.OTHER BENEFITS:Free uniformVirtual trainingOn the job trainingTop industry rates of pay.Continuous learning opportunitiesFurther information about the Company:www.Securitas.CaThe posting will remain open until it is filled.
