Job Description
STEWART DRUGS HANNA (1984) Ltd. o/a Hanna Fresh Market at 610 2 Ave W, Hanna, AB T0J 1P0 is seeking to hire a permanent and full time Retail Butcher qualified. Please send your resume by e-mail if you are interested.
Position: Retail Butcher
Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: $23.00 per hour
Working hours: 30 hours per week
Benefit: 4% of vacation pay

Job Duties
Cut and weigh meat and fish for sale at self-serve counters or on special order from customers
Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats, such as beef, pork, poultry, and fish, to prepare meat in cooking form.
Slice and grind meat using a grinder and a slicing machine
Prepare meats, fish, and shellfish for processing, cutting, etc.
Package and price meat products for sale
Make special sausages and slice cooked meats
Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, fish, and shellfish products, as well as standard cuts of meat and poultry.
Make standard cuts of meat from carcasses, sides, and quarters, and remove bones from them
Maintain adequate meat storage in the supermarket
Keep an eye on the food storage conditions on a regular basis.
Assess the cost, product line,



and freshness of meat products according to company and customer requirements
Willing to work on weekend or holiday shifts

Requirements
Completion of secondary school
Min. 2 years of experience as a meat cutter or butcher
Trade certification for meat cutter or completion of related programs is an asset
