It focuses on fertility medications, pain management and compounding, and it serves a diverse community with respect and care. They need an experienced pharmacist who can run the dispensary day to day, lead the pharmacy team and help grow their clinical services. What you’ll do *1. Run the dispensary*
- Oversee daily dispensing and keep work moving smoothly
- Coordinate prescription processing, checking and compliance packaging so prescriptions are ready on time
- Set priorities, assign tasks and handle a busy workload
- Find ways to improve how the pharmacy runs
- Follow Ontario College of Pharmacists standards and the law, with accurate records and a focus on patient safety *2. Methadone and opioid treatment*
- Safely dispense methadone and other opioid treatments, including buprenorphine/naloxone
- Manage daily doses, witnessed dosing, documentation and patient follow-up
- Follow Ontario rules for controlled substances
- Care for patients in addiction treatment with respect, without judgment, and with a harm-reduction approach *3. Lead the team*
- Guide and support pharmacy assistants and technicians
- Train and mentor staff
- Solve problems calmly and constructively
- Help keep the workplace respectful and friendly *4. Care for patients*
- Counsel patients on their medications and complete clinical assessments
- Provide minor ailment assessments, vaccinations and medication reviews, as authorized
- Support patients on fertility medications and other specialty treatments
- Work with doctors and other healthcare professionals
- Communicate clearly with patients from different cultures, language backgrounds and levels of health knowledge 5. What you need
- Licence as a pharmacist in Ontario, in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- At least 3 years of community pharmacy experience
- Hands-on experience dispensing methadone and managing opioid treatment prescriptions
- Experience managing dispensary workflow
- Ability to supervise staff and manage daily priorities
- Positive clinical judgment, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Comfort working with patients from many cultural, language and economic backgrounds
- A caring, professional and nonjudgmental approach
- Ability to work on your own and make sound decisions
- Strong communication skills Good to have
- Experience in an independent community pharmacy
- Experience providing expanded clinical services
- Interest in fertility medications, specialty pharmacy and compounding
- Experience training staff and improving workflows
- Additional languages
