JOB DESCRIPTIONLocation: Hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)Duration: 12 monthsOur client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Hybrid Interaction/Visual Designer – Advanced to work daily with cross-functional partners: product managers, project managers, business analysts, developers, and QA. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.Must-Have Skills:Advanced digital product design across both interaction and visual design, for responsive web and native appsStrong visual craft: typography, visual hierarchy, layout, and conceptingExperience designing with, and contributing to, complex design systemsLean UX within Agile dev teamsUsability research and testing to validate solutionsBA/BS degree in Design (e.G. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field or equivalent practical experiencePortfolio that includes application design samplesA minimum of 5 years of experience in designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platformsExperience in an applied research setting including experience integrating user research into product designs and design practicesDemonstrated ability to articulate design strategy, rational and logic; describing benefits andhighlighting risks associated with design decisionsDemonstrated expertise with design, prototyping, and research tools such as Figma, Mural, User .French speaking and writingNice-To-Have Skills:Has worked with large design teams and multiple stakeholders (product, business,



technical)Experience creating user journeys, wireframes, and information architectureAdvanced Figma experienceStrong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phaseAppreciation for the potential of 'design thinking'Experience working within a large organization and within an agile environmentSoft Skills Required:Solid communication and presentation skills.
