Build embedded imaging software for VIAVI Solutions’ optical test equipment using C++, Python, Linux, and machine vision expertise. This role supports telecommunications laboratories and manufacturing applications.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will develop controls, automation, and interfaces for complex electro-optical-mechanical systems. You will support complete product lifecycles, from concept and research through development and new product introduction. The work includes imaging algorithms, embedded platforms, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities: Design and debug software for enhancements and recent products
Develop embedded platforms in Linux environments
Create embedded imaging algorithms and applications
Collaborate on system architecture, bring-up,



and BSP support
Prepare technical documentation for products and systems
Requirements: Degree in computer science, mathematics, or related engineering field
Five-plus years developing software with C/C++ and Python
Three-plus years developing embedded real-time C/C++ systems
Three-plus years in embedded imaging and machine vision applications
Knowledge of image processing tools including OpenCV and NumPy
Apply embedded software, machine vision, C++, and Python skills to VIAVI Solutions’ optical instrumentation products.
