Candidates should exhibit exemplary communication and organizational skills, with the ability to take initiative, prioritize daily tasks and have a strong ability to take charge and meet tight deadlines.Interior Designer Responsibilities Work closely with lead architects and senior designers to produce Schematic Design, Design Development, and Contract DocumentsCommunicate with project consultants and engineers to progress design changes and coordinationCollaborate with owner stakeholder teams to support design objectives and develop design proposalsProduce material boards, design concepts, and room finish schedulesCoordinate design activities and participate in meetings with consultants and engineers as requiredComplete working drawings with full consultant coordination for tenderingCoordinate with lead designer to meet project deadlines, achieve goals, and review drawings and specifications for deficienciesSupport contract administrators during the construction phase, including shop drawing reviews, site instructions,



and related tasksWork with suppliers and vendors to maintain current product knowledge and relationshipsMaintain sample library, ensure organization, and source new samples as neededManage multiple projects across various project typesOversee client budgets and project costsProduce 3 D photo-realistic renderingsSkills & Experience Experience with institutional building design in Ontario; exposure to educational, healthcare, recreation centres, multi-use residential, and first responder facilities is an assetProficiency in the latest versions of Revit and BIM 360Strong understanding of AODA requirementsSolid knowledge of building systems, construction procedures, OBC, and relevant city by-laws/regulationsUnderstanding of contract administration processes (both office and on-site)Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to evaluate building materials and design featuresTechnical knowledge of Part 3 constructionStrong ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings/specificationsProven ability to work independently and collaborativelyDemonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teamsStrong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to present ideas clearly through both visuals and verbal communicationStrong relationship-building skills with clients, consultants, and suppliersAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-performance team environmentCreative thinking with the ability to develop new ideas and solutionsStrong prioritization skills with the ability to work with minimal supervisionProblem-solving mindset; reliable, optimistic, and approachableStrong understanding of project scheduling and delivering against key milestonesQualifications Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a 3-year college diploma in Interior Design7+ years of relevant experience in an architectural or design firmRegistered member of ARIDOProficiency in Revit and Auto CADExperience with rendering programs is an assetValid Class G driver’s licence with access to a personal vehicle#J-18808-Ljbffr
