Location: Unit 5, 12 Castleridge Drive NE, Calgary, Alberta
Rate: $65-$70 per hour + 10% service bonus. Eligible for annual bonus based on performance

Position: Full-time Pharmacist

AR Pharmacy, located inside the busy Castleridge Health Centre, is seeking a reliable pharmacist to provide safe, accurate dispensing and attentive patient care.

Our pharmacy processes more than 120 prescriptions per day, uses Kroll pharmacy software, and has pharmacy assistant support available. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and collaborating with clinic physicians and staff.

Shift hours

- Monday–Friday: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Key responsibilities

- Assess prescriptions for authenticity, completeness and clinical appropriateness, including medication interactions, allergies, contraindications and dosing.
- Oversee prescription preparation, complete required dispensing checks, and counsel patients on safe medication use.
- Assess patients’ medication needs, identify drug therapy problems, and provide medication reviews, care plans and follow-up as appropriate.
- Assess requests for prescription adaptations, renewals and emergency supplies, providing services within your authorized scope and applicable standards.
- Administer vaccines and other injections within your authorization and competence, including patient assessment, consent, documentation and monitoring.
- Communicate with prescribers and other healthcare professionals to clarify prescriptions and coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document clinical assessments, interventions and follow-up.
- Process prescriptions and insurance claims accurately using Kroll, and resolve billing issues.
- Accurately record payment transactions,



issue receipts, and follow pharmacy procedures for cash handling and reconciliation.
- Support medication inventory, safe storage, expiry monitoring, and required narcotic and controlled drug records.
- Supervise and support pharmacy assistants, ensuring tasks are assigned appropriately.
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow ACP standards, applicable legislation, and pharmacy policies.

Required qualifications

- Current registration on the Alberta College of Pharmacy clinical pharmacist register, with a valid practice permit and good standing.
- Current ACP authorization to administer drugs by injection.
- Current CPR certification at Level C or HCP, and current First Aid certification.
- Experience and proficiency with Kroll pharmacy software.
- Community pharmacy experience and the ability to manage a busy dispensary safely with pharmacy assistant support is an asset.
- Robust clinical judgment, attention to detail, communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Alberta pharmacy legislation, professional standards, documentation requirements and patient privacy obligations.
- Must be registered with ACP and in a good standing.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Experience dispensing opioid agonist therapy (OAT), including methadone and buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone), or willingness to complete relevant training.

Assets

- Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA).
- Familiarity with Alberta Netcare and Alberta Blue Cross and other third-party billing.
- Previous pharmacist experience.
