Security Officer – Job Description

As a Security Officer at MSSSecurity, you will be responsible for keeping the property, staff, residents, and visitors safe. Your main role is to maintain a secure environment, prevent unwanted activities, and respond to any security concerns that may arise during your shift.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of the assigned property.
- Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, and other significant locations.
- Ensure only authorized individuals have access to the property.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, suspicious activities, and emergency situations.
- Assist residents, visitors, and staff with security-related concerns.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and report any unusual activity.
- Identify safety hazards, maintenance issues, or damaged property and report them to management.
- Handle difficult situations calmly and professionally.
- Contact police, fire, or emergency services when required.
- Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident reports.
- Follow site-specific instructions,



company policies, and safety procedures.
- Communicate with supervisors and other team members regarding important incidents or concerns.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Valid Alberta Security Services Worker Licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and behaviour.
- Willingness to work day, night, weekend, or overnight shifts as required.

We are looking for someone who takes their responsibilities seriously, treats people with respect, and can be trusted to handle situations professionally. Previous security experience is an asset, but reliability, good judgment, and a positive attitude are equally important.

Pay: $16.00-$17.50 per hour
