The Dietetic Technician supports the delivery of the high-quality nutrition care. Working collaboratively with dietitians and other health care professionals, the Dietetic Technician will contribute the meeting patients’ nutritional needs , support nutrition care planning and promoting positive patient outcomes. The incumbent conforms to standardized guidelines, policies and procedures of the department and institution.

All duties are performed in accordance with the Mission and Values of Unity Health Toronto.

Qualifications

Graduate or enrolled in a Dietitians of Canada recognized two-year Community College Program in Food & Nutrition Management or a four year Nutrition Undergraduate Degree.

Previous Experience As a Dietetic Technician Preferred.

Computer experience required, Microsoft Office, Email, Internet, familiarity with diet office software preferred.

Working knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Ability to effectively advise and counsel patients with a strong commitment to customer service.





Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills; both oral and written.

Proven ability to work with minimum supervision.

Valuable organizational and time management skills.

Must have excellent attention to detail.

Satisfactory attendance record.
