Heritage Hills Veterinary Clinic is under new management and looking to add to our team! We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician Student to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while supporting veterinarians in various clinical procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for learning and animal welfare.
Responsibilities
- All skills and responsibilities will be practiced and performed in a learning capacity under the required supervision of a registered veterinarian.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgeries and recovery.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
- Provide compassionate care to animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Experience
- Previous veterinary clinic experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their health and welfare is crucial for success in this role.
- Proficiency in IDEXX Cornerstone and IDEXX Laboratory equipment is considered an asset.
