Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional customer service, demonstrating product features, and driving sales through effective communication and upselling techniques. A basic knowledge in dog and cat nutrition are skills highly valued to better serve our diverse clientele. Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
- Conduct product demonstrations and explain features to enhance customer understanding
- Engage in retail sales, upselling products to maximize store revenue
- Manage POS transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties such as returns and gift cards.
- Maintain merchandising standards, ensuring displays are attractive and organized
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Utilize communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Manage time efficiently to ensure all responsibilities are completed during shifts




- Uphold phone etiquette when interacting with customers via phone or online inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and follow safety protocols
- Continuous learning regarding pet food, supplements, treats, and dietary concerns

Skills

- Experience in technology or product demos, particularly for social media
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear customer interactions
- Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math for transactions
- Customer service expertise with a friendly and professional attitude
- Organizational skills to manage merchandising displays and stock levels
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Ability to perform retail sales tasks including upselling and cross-selling products
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and retail operations such as cashiering and phone etiquette

Qualifications

- Strong communication and social skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Basic math and cash-handling
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift 40lbs
- Customer Service and Sales Experience
- Has a dog or cat
- Knowledge in general pet care
