The Opportunity:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Produce Manager at our St. Vital Food Store located at 850 Dakota Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba . This position reports to the Store Manager. The Produce Manager adds value to our Co-operative by providing leadership and direction to all aspects of Produce department operations.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Provide leadership and direction in the execution of financial results and store budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, expenses and profits.
- Ensure standards of department presentation and operations are met, including cleanliness and sanitation, inventory control, purchasing, and the delivery of world-class customer service.
- Provide leadership in the area of employee relations, including hiring, training, development, performance management, discipline, and administration of co-op policies.
- Build and maintain a strong culture of employee and customer engagement within the department.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- A minimum of 2 years of retail management experience, or non-management retail experience performing at a high level (department assistant or higher).
- Sound knowledge of department financial operations.
- Robust communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a special skill of motivating staff to achieve strong operating results.
