EVENT COORDINATOR — INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR

This is not an entry-level events job. Beltline Hospitality Group is looking for an established event professional to run private and corporate bookings across three distinct venues in Calgary's Stephen Avenue core: FinePrint, our flagship restaurant; Heavily Redacted, an exclusive VIP lounge built for high-net-worth clientele, celebrities, and influencers; and The Herald Room, our dedicated second-floor event space. THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an independent contractor engagement, structured so your hours and your earnings scale directly with the business you bring in.

- Base rate: $25.00/hour, up to 30 hours/week or more, billed bi-monthly

- Uncapped performance bonus on events you personally secure through your own outreach:

- $0 – $300,000 in annual event revenue secured: 3.0%
- $300,001 – $500,000: 3.5%
- Above $500,000: 4.0%

- Bonus applies to business you generate yourself, not inbound inquiries through the phone, website, or TripleSeat — this rewards the hunting, not the answering

- As your booking pace grows, so does everything else: hours, income, and scope are revisited together based on the success you're driving

- Supplemental health coverage (flex plan, up to $1,000/year) after 3 months, plus reimbursement for pre-approved business expenses

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

The core objective of this role is an average of 3–4 large event bookings (20+ guests)



per month, generated proactively rather than waiting on inbound inquiries. That means:

- Cold outreach and direct prospecting

- Building and actively working a top-100 list of repeat, preferred corporate clients

- Leveraging (and expanding) real relationships across TV, film, music, arts, entertainment, business, and professional sports

- Converting owner-provided contacts and your own network into booked, paid events

If you're coming from a coordinator role where events landed in your inbox, this is a different job. If you're coming from sales, business development, or a venue where you already built the book yourself, this is exactly that job, at a venue portfolio worth selling.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- An established event or hospitality sales professional — we are not staffing this role to train someone into it

- A genuine hunter: comfortable cold calling, networking into new rooms, and closing, not just coordinating what's already booked





- Existing relationships in TV, film, music, arts, entertainment, business, or skilled sports are a strong asset

- Comfortable working independently as a contractor and committing a minimum of 30 hours/week

- Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and vehicle insurance required

- Able to commit fully to this engagement

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

- Proactively source and secure private bookings of 20+ guests for FinePrint, Heavily Redacted, and The Herald Room

- Build and maintain your own top-100 list of repeat, preferred corporate clients

- Own the full client relationship: discovery, proposal, contracting, and post-event follow-up, using TripleSeat

- Coordinate event logistics end-to-end — venue setup, décor, entertainment, AV, and vendor negotiation

- Partner with the culinary team on custom menus and tastings when required

- Manage event budgets with clients and ownership, and reconcile on completion

- Oversee event execution on-site, including staffing coordination and real-time problem-solving

- Ensure every event runs within health, safety, and liquor compliance requirements

- Represent FinePrint, Heavily Redacted, and The Herald Room as a brand ambassador in the community — professionally, and with discretion

This role is engaged as an independent contractor, not an employee, under a Services Agreement with Beltline Hospitality Group Inc.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 40.0 per week
