Overview

The Truck and Trailer Maintenance Technician / Handyman supports the upkeep, repair, and assembly of trucks, trailers, and related equipment in Calgary. This hands-on role combines mechanical troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and practical repair work across a varied equipment workplace.

Responsibilities

- Inspect trucks, trailers, and equipment; identify maintenance needs and complete repairs using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform automotive repair, welding, assembly, and basic electrical or HVAC maintenance as appropriate to the task.
- Support work involving industrial equipment, farm machinery, and equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, and Caterpillar machinery.
- Operate heavy equipment when needed, handle heavy lifting safely, and communicate courteously with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

Required: Practical mechanical knowledge, familiarity with maintenance and repair tasks, and safe use of hand tools and power tools are essential. Ability to interpret schematics and perform hands-on work, including heavy lifting, supports effective troubleshooting and upkeep. Preferred: Mechanic or dealership experience, automotive repair, welding, electrical or HVAC experience, and familiarity with forklifts, excavators, cranes, Caterpillar equipment, farm machinery, or other industrial equipment are valuable. Customer service skills and experience with assembly or heavy equipment operation are also beneficial.

Pay: $23.80-$44.37 per hour
