We are currently seeking an Estimator / Project Manager to join our Engineering Department. This position offers an excellent chance for an individual with construction, engineering, manufacturing, or project management experience to develop a rewarding career in the precast concrete industry.

Position Summary

The Estimator / Project Manager is responsible for preparing project estimates, reviewing drawings and specifications, coordinating awarded projects, and supporting customers through all phases of project execution.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

· Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

· Complete quantity take-offs and project costing.

· Prepare detailed quotations and bid submissions.

· Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.

· Assess project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.

· Maintain estimating records and historical cost data.

Project Management

· Coordinate projects from quotation through completion.

· Serve as the primary contact for assigned projects.

· Monitor schedules, project milestones, and customer requirements.





· Coordinate with engineering, production, dispatch, and installation teams.

· Manage project documentation, change orders, and project communications.

· Attend customer meetings and site visits as required.

Engineering & Technical Support

· Review engineering drawings and construction specifications.

· Assist in the development of practical precast concrete solutions.

· Support customers and contractors with technical inquiries.

· Ensure project requirements are accurately communicated to production teams.

· Work collaboratively with engineers, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Customer Service & Business Development

· Build and maintain strong customer relationships.

· Support sales efforts through technical knowledge and project consultation.

· Identify opportunities for new business and project growth.

Qualifications

Required

· Post-secondary education in Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.

· Minimum 2 years of experience in estimating, project management, construction, manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry.

· Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

· Valid Ontario Driver's Licence.

Preferred





· Experience in precast concrete, concrete products, civil infrastructure, or manufacturing environments.

· CET, EIT, P.Eng., PMP, or related professional designation.

· Experience working with municipalities, consultants, contractors, and public-sector projects.

· Familiarity with project scheduling and project management software.
