Full Job Description:

Physiolife Physiotherapy Clinic is looking to hire a kinesiologist to join our multi-disciplinary clinic in South Surrey! We have been an established part of the community for over 16 years and consist of a collaborative team of physiotherapists, massage therapists, a kinesiologist and an acupuncturist. As a kinesiologist at Physiolife, your main role will be to take over an existing caseload and provide active rehabilitation services to ICBC patients, with the occasional opportunity to see private clients. Our focus is to provide the highest level of treatment so our patients can achieve their health-related goals.

Our ideal new team member has 1-2 years of previous kinesiology experience and a robust exercise background, with the ability to modify exercises to suit a wide variety of patients. Excellent communication skills is important, as you will be collaborating with other therapists during your patients’ rehab journey and liaising with ICBC claims specialists. We are looking for someone with empathy and a positive attitude to help these ICBC patients as they recover from their injuries. Although we are looking for someone with previous experience, we do welcome applications from newer graduates.

Responsibilities:

- Provide active rehabilitation services to ICBC patients
- Conduct 60-minute initial assessments and create short- and long-term individualized treatment plans
- Provide 45-minute subsequent appointments utilising the gym space
- Create digital or physical (i.e. paper handout) take home exercise plans for patients
- Manage patients' ICBC claims, including completing and submitting ICBC treatment plans and progress reports in a timely manner
- Complete accurate and timely charting, including tracking exercise progressions and routine range of motion and strength assessments

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field
- Practicing member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) and in positive standing
- Valid insurance (Professional and Commercial General Liability)
- 1+ years’ experience considered an asset
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with patients and other health care providers
- Ability to work independently and manage patient charts and ICBC claims

Expected hours:

Somewhat flexible, however the current position's schedule is Monday mornings, and Wednesday/Thursday/Friday afternoons/evenings. We would prefer someone who is available consistently for 3 shifts per week in order to maintain a consistent caseload.
