Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated HR Generalist to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, perks administration, health & safety, and compliance with employment legislation.

The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers, helping to maintain a positive workplace culture while ensuring HR practices align with company policies and legal requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Employee relations & HR Support

- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and management HR inquiries.
- Provide guidance on company policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
- Support managers with employee relations concerns, performance management, progressive discipline, and terminations.
- Investigate workplace complaints, policy violations, and harassment concerns, recommending appropriate corrective actions.
- Conduct exit interviews and identify trends or opportunities for improvement

Recruitment & Onboarding

- Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviews, and hiring recommendations.
- Coordinate employment offers, background checks, and onboarding activities.
- Deliver new employee orientation and ensure a positive onboarding experience.
- Maintain and update job descriptions and organizational structures

HR Administration & Compliance

- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, HRIS data, and personnel files.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment standards, human rights legislation, privacy requirements, and company policies.
- Stay current on employment law, regulatory changes, and HR best practices.
- Prepare and distribute HR communications relating to policies, benefits,



programs, and workplace updates
- Administer employee benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, and employee support.
- Coordinate employee leaves, accommodations, and return-to-work programs.
- Support payroll administration by ensuring personnel information is accurate and up to date.

Training, Health & Safety

- Coordinate employee onboarding, orientation, and mandatory training programs.
- Participate in and support the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC).
- Promote a safe work setting by supporting health and safety policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Manage all WSIB claims, including incident reporting, claim administration, modified work programs, and return-to-work coordination.
- Report hazards, incidents, and injuries to the supervisor.
- Follow safe work procedures and rules.
- Use personal protective equipment and clothing as directed by the employer.
- Report any known missing or defective equipment or protective device.
- Not engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct

Qualifications & Skills

- College diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CHRP designation, or actively working toward obtaining certification.
- Minimum 2-3 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, produce, or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, human rights, WSIB, and health and safety requirements.
- Experience with recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration.
- Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office,
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Active listening and problem-solving skills for employee relations
