Job Overview

We are currently seeking reliable and hardworking Meat Production Workers to join our client's meat processing and food production team in Newmarket. The successful candidates will assist with packaging, organizing, and handling prepared meat products while maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards.

This position is suitable for individuals who are comfortable working in a cool setting and handling various types of raw meat, including pork, lamb, chicken, and beef.

Location: Langstaff Rd and Hwy 27
Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Responsibilities

- Place cut meat into trays and boxes after the butcher has prepared it into smaller portions.
- Organize and prepare meat products for the next stage of production.
- Move dollies loaded with meat trays to the freezer area.
- Handle boxes of meat weighing approximately 10 kg, with some boxes weighing up to 20 kg.
- Use dollies and other available equipment to move heavier boxes and trays safely.
- Wash and sanitize trays, equipment, and production areas after production.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
- Follow food safety, hygiene,



Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and workplace safety procedures.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and production staff.
- Assist with other general production duties as required.

Requirements

- Previous experience in meat processing, food manufacturing, packaging, or general production is an asset.
- Comfortable handling raw pork, lamb, chicken, and beef.
- Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment with temperatures between 4°C and 10°C.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods.
- Ability to handle boxes weighing up to 20 kg, using appropriate equipment and safe lifting practices when required.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Good attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
- Safety shoes are mandatory in the production area.
- Must be available to work Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
- Students are not eligible for this position.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
