Objectives & Responsibilities:

In-Line Quality Control

produced correctly and to specification

▪ Conduct regular in-line inspections at each workstation, checking stitch quality, seam allowances, stitch density, tension,

alignment, and construction accuracy

▪ Verify cut parts against patterns and markers for accuracy, shading, grain line, and fabric defects before they enter sewing

▪ Perform first-piece / first-bundle approvals at the start of each new style or operation change

▪ Identify defects at the source, communicate corrections directly to operators and line supervisors, and follow up to confirm

issues are resolved

▪ Ensure operators are working from approved samples, tech packs, and construction specifications

▪ Inspect incoming fabric, trims, and components for quality, colour consistency, and conformance to approved standards

▪ Monitor machine settings and work methods that affect quality, flagging maintenance or training needs

Finished Product Quality Control

▪ Conduct final inspections of finished goods using AQL sampling standards before goods are packed and shipped

▪ Measure finished garments against size specifications and graded spec sheets, documenting tolerances

▪ Check overall appearance, workmanship, labelling, care and content labels, hangtags, trims, and packaging for accuracy

and compliance

▪ Flag, hold, or pass production lots and follow up on rework or repairs as required

▪ Ensure all product meets customer, private label, and government contract requirements, including any third-party or

customer inspections

▪ Review returned or rejected goods to determine root cause and prevent recurrence

Standards, Reporting & Team Support

▪ Maintain and apply quality standards, inspection checklists, and quality manuals for all product categories

▪ Maintain accurate inspection records, defect reports, and quality metrics; report trends and findings to Senior

Management

▪ Help identify the root cause of defects and support corrective actions with production and product development teams

▪ Participate in pre-production meetings, sample reviews, and fittings to flag construction and quality risks before bulk

production

▪ Support operators with hands-on guidance on quality expectations, proper construction methods, and defect prevention

▪ Communicate with customers and suppliers on quality issues, approvals, and inspection results

▪ Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and waste

▪ Additional tasks as required — flexibility and willingness to contribute wherever needed is essential

The Ideal Candidate:

▪ 3+ years of quality control experience in garment or sewn-products manufacturing

▪ Strong knowledge of garment construction, sewing operations, industrial machinery, fabrics, and trims — outerwear

experience is a strong asset

▪ Proven experience with both in-line and final inspection,

including AQL sampling and garment measurement to spec

▪ Able to read and interpret tech packs, spec sheets, patterns, and construction details

▪ Post-secondary education or certification in fashion technology, apparel production, or quality management is an asset

▪ A keen eye for detail — able to spot defects others miss and hold a consistent standard under production pressure

▪ Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to give clear, respectful feedback to operators

and management

▪ Comfortable working closely with operators and production staff, sharing know-how and helping build a quality-first

culture on the floor

▪ Solid problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis and corrective action

▪ Exceptionally organized — able to manage multiple styles, orders, and deadlines simultaneously without missing a detail

▪ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) for inspection reports and quality tracking

▪ Experience with government, military, or private label contract quality requirements is a strong asset

▪ Comfortable standing and walking the production floor for extended periods

▪ Ability to work independently and take clear direction from senior management

▪ Positive, solution-driven mindset with a can-do attitude
