Overview
We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and detail-oriented Barista/All Rounder to join our team. We are looking for someone that can work part-time with possible open availability. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service while preparing high-quality beverages and supporting daily operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food and beverage industry, possess solid time management skills, and demonstrate a passion for creating a welcoming environment for customers. This position offers an engaging work environment with opportunities for growth and skill development.

Two important duties for the role of the barista at Columbus Café is to make fresh sandwiches daily as well as muffins and other baked goods , all that can be taught.

Duties

- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks following standardized recipes and presentation standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including cashiering duties
- Assist with food preparation and food handling to support overall store operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in compliance with food safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, answering questions,



and ensuring a positive experience
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service
- Support opening and closing duties as needed, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a barista or in the food service industry is preferred
- Knowledge of POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Ability to handle food safely following proper procedures for food safety and hygiene standards
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during peak hours
- Experience in serving, food preparation, and general food handling is desirable
- A positive attitude with a team-oriented mindset and flexibility to adapt to changing needs
