We are actively recruiting for a reliable friendly Care Worker to provide evening support for a retired skilled male employer with a C4 spinal cord injury.

Experience as a Personal Support Worker(this is helpful but not required), training will be provided by the employer, spouse and a member of the care team.

The ideal candidate will also enjoy friendly, casual conversation while assisting with evening routines in a calm, respectful manner.

Location:

- East Saanich, between Quadra Street and Royal Oak Drive

Shifts & Hours of Work:

- 2-4 Evening Shifts
- 6:30PM to 11:30PM
- Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- Preference to someone who can extend on some days when needed

Compensation:

- $30 per hour

Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):

- Evening personal care including peri care, showering, dressing assistance, grooming, dental hygiene
- Assist with colostomy checks/changes, colostomy flange change, catheter checks as required
- Assist with ceiling lift transfers
- Meal preparation and light cooking
- Medication assistance, range of motion, assistance with exercise and therapy
- Assist with Bi-PAP machine cleaning and refilling
- Support on errands/outings etc.

Required Qualifications:

- Honest, diligent and hardworking who has willingness to learn
- Must have a very strong command of English
- Class 5 Driver's license - preferred
- Friendly,



Reliable, and compassionate
- Comfortable driving Toyota Sienna Minivan
- Physically able to perform the job
- Ability to cover other evening shifts preferred but not required
- Non-Smoker
- Full vaccinated for COVID-19 (2 doses)
