Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing essential support in maintaining a clean and secure environment for our furry guests. This role involves hands-on interaction with animals and requires strong customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for pet owners.
Duties
- Pressure wash, squeegee, and sanitize dog kennels daily
- Wash all water and food bowls daily
- Set up kennels with each dogs personal belongings
- Prepare supper and breakfast for each boarding dog
- Pooper scooping outdoor yards daily
- Pressure washing artificial turf and raking rocks in summer, ice pick and shoveling in the winter
- Supervise dogs and ensure safe play
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to staff or management.
- Office duties such as learning our booking system, answering phones, replying to emails, booking dogs in, checking dogs in and out for their stays, handling client paperwork
- Assisting our dog groomer with tasks such as bathing,
drying, and supporting nervous dogs
- Bath, dry, brush daycare and boarding dogs
- Support team members in heavy lifting tasks related to animal care, such as moving supplies or larger pets as needed
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect both animals and staff
Experience
- Previous experience in animal care is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn and understand animal behavior, as well as a passion for the job is essential
- Strong customer service skills are necessary to effectively communicate with pet owners and provide exceptional service
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling supplies or larger animals
