About the Role

We are recruiting a reliable, hard-working Dairy Farm Assistant to join a busy, well-run dairy farm in Ireland. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with animals and wants to build a long-term career in Irish dairy farming.

Key Responsibilities

- Milking cows in the parlour, following hygiene and milk quality procedures
- Feeding and caring for dairy cows, calves and young stock
- Assisting during the calving season, including calf rearing and monitoring cows
- Spotting signs of basic illness or lameness and treating them promptly
- Helping with herd health tasks, breeding and record keeping
- Cleaning and maintaining the milking parlour, sheds and equipment
- Assisting with grassland management, silage and slurry work
- Operating farm machinery (tractors, loaders, etc.) safely
- Following all animal welfare,



health and safety and environmental standards

Requirements

- 3-4 years of experience on a Modern Dairy Farm
- Knowledge of milking routines and animal husbandry
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends and long hours during the calving season
- Good physical fitness and a practical, hands-on attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full driving licence an advantage
- Agricultural qualification an advantage, but not essential
