We are currently looking to hire our next great team member for the position of Evening Shift Shop Foreman in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced, safety-focused mechanic who is ready to combine hands-on technical expertise with team leadership.

What You'll Do

As the Evening Shift Shop Foreman, you will oversee shop operations and guide the night-shift mechanics while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, repair quality, and professionalism. You will help ensure company-owned and customer equipment remains in strong operating condition through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

- Perform scheduled OEM repairs on a variety of machinery and repair equipment to OEM specifications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Complete preventive maintenance services and identify wear, defects, and potential equipment failures.
- Recondition, repair, and replace parts on heavy equipment and related machinery.
- Lead, coach, and mentor team members, providing practical direction and technical support as needed.




- Help coordinate night-shift workflow and maintain high standards for repair quality, productivity, and follow-through.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are used safely.
- Follow all company and site safety procedures and reinforce safe work practices across the team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

- Minimum 5 years of mechanic experience is preferred.
- Strong experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics, OEM information, and warning labels.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency.




- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability to work Monday to Thursday from 3:00pm to 2:00am
- Ability to work the night shift and work legally in Canada.

Preferred

- Journeyman / Journeyperson or Red Seal certification in a related trade is considered an asset.
- Previous experience leading, coaching, or mentoring mechanics or technicians.
- Experience with aerial lifts, material handling equipment, heavy equipment, or equipment rental operations.
- Familiarity with OEM preventive maintenance and repair standards.
