Job Overview

The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, supplies, and services to meet company needs. This role involves evaluating vendors, comparing quotes, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards..

Role and Responsibilities

- Generate Requirements Reports from Q-Inmass for the purpose of purchasing all components required for manufacturing based on approved Production Releases.
- Source, purchase and coordinate timely delivery of components as requested by the Purchasing Manager.
- Follow Recent Vendor Set-Up Process and maintain vendors in Q-Inmass as required.
- Ensure DryAir is getting the best quality components for the best possible price.
- Communicate with Purchasing Manager on late delivery dates of components.
- Generate Schedule Receipt Reports from Q-Inmass, expedite Backordered or Late Purchase Orders and communicate status updates to Purchasing Manager.
- Ensure accurate costs and currency in Vendor file and on Purchase Orders.
- Ensure all Purchase Orders are complete, properly distributed and filed.
- Report major component cost increases to Purchasing Manager.
- Handle the Purchasing role for all Defective Part Worksheets.
- Assist R&D; in sourcing new components for R&D; projects as required.
- Review Engineering Change Orders as required and act on any items that may impact Purchasing Department.




- Handle Purchase Requisitions and ordering Janitorial products.
- Responsible for receiving merchandise in Q-Inmass in a timely manner specifically around month end.
- Above responsibilities may change at the discretion of the Supervisor.
- Work with vendors to ensure products are here by required due dates.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

- Review and abide by company policies and procedures
- Organized, detail-oriented, proficient in Excel & Q-Inmass, able to self-start and collaborate with others
- Models integrity and actively builds rapport with team members by demonstrating respect, trust and support
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Q-Inmass knowledge, particularly Purchasing and Inventory Control Modules.

Experience

Required: Practical purchasing, sourcing, pricing, and vendor coordination capabilities, with the ability to pick up the phone to contact vendors, use MRP information and ERP systems such as SAP to support accurate procurement and communicate effectively across teams.

Preferred: Related experience in purchasing, procurement, vendor management, or manufacturing and supply chain environments, along with negotiation skills and familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
