Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to join our finance team, on a contract basis, from January to April with the potential for an extension.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability to complete accounting duties in an efficient and professional manner. The role is essential in maintaining and enhancing customer and community relations and ensuring Personal Tax Procedures are completed and carried out in a timely manner.

Duties

- Promotes and maintains a positive image for the business and contributes to a pleasant working environment.
- Prepare tax returns for individuals and small businesses by reviewing tax documents and financial records, and processing simple to complex income tax returns using our qualified software system
- Answer any client questions clearly, accurately, and with confidence
- Collaborate with income tax preparers, accountants, and administrative staff within the office to work toward an efficient and effective workflow
- Receive and handle client accounting calls




- Ensure client confidentiality and privacy
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

- Experience with Microsoft Office
- 2+ years of prior tax preparation experience with professional tax preparation software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in person
- Organizational skills
- Team Player
- Ability to stay focused on the task at hand
- Ability to multi-task

Education Requirements

- Completed course of study in tax preparation and/or accounting
- A Certificate and/or Degree in Accounting, from a reputable College or University is preferred

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
