Beyond Group is looking for a Junior Firestop Estimator to join the estimating team behind our commercial firestopping work.

This is a hire-to-train position, so no experience is required. You’ll learn the job from the drawings up: completing takeoffs, reviewing specs and tender documents, matching penetrations and joints to tested firestop systems and building pricing that holds up once the crew is on site.

If you’ve got a diploma in Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering Technology and you want to put it to work in passive fire protection, keep reading.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete quantity takeoffs for firestopping scopes from architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings
- Review specifications, addenda and tender documents and flag what applies to our scope
- Match penetrations and joints to tested and listed firestop systems (ULC/UL) under the direction of the senior estimator




- Build labour and material pricing and assemble quotes and proposals for review
- Track tender deadlines, addenda and bid documents so nothing closes without a number in it
- Keep assemblies, unit pricing and historical costing current in the estimating system
- Visit sites with the estimating and operations teams to understand conditions before pricing
- Support project handoff to operations once work is awarded

Qualifications

- No experience required: this is a hire-to-train position
- Diploma in Architectural Technology preferred; Civil Engineering Technology diplomas also considered

What We Offer

Compensation range of $55,000–$70,000 per year, based on industry experience, plus a bonus structure to be negotiated. We offer a number of extra benefits as listed below, but they may be subject to a probationary waiting period.
