Intermediate Accountant

Integrated Geomatics Inc. is a growing Western Canadian geomatics, environmental, engineering, GIS, and regulatory services company supporting clients across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

As a key member of the accounting team, you will support day-to-day accounting activities and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. You will work closely with the CFO and other team members, gaining exposure to different areas of the business while helping with reconciliations, reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing

- Full cycle accounting including month end and year end close processes, journal entries, bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain balance sheet schedules
- Accounts receivable and accounts payable management
- Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries with meticulous attention to detail
- Support the accuracy and timeliness of financial information
- Support and preparation of payroll
- Follow established accounting policies, procedures and controls are consistently and accurately applied
- Support the application and ongoing improvement on internal controls, their effectiveness and continued implementation of them

What We Would Like From You

- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting an asset but not required
- 3+ years hands-on experience in an accounting-focused role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office




- Experience supporting Canadian private companies
- Strong foundation in accounting principles
- Experience working with Canadian accounting standards, payroll regulations, and corporate reporting requirements is strongly preferred
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A continuous-improvement mindset, with an interest in improving processes and leveraging automation to increase efficiency and reduce errors
- Strong ownership, accountability, and proactive problem-solving skills
- Strong desire to learn and grow in the role
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to ask questions and learn
- Excellent communication and ability to foster and develop relationships and trust
- Collaborative mindset with the confidence to work with colleagues across the organization

Location and other key details:

- This is a full time permanent position based out of our Calgary Corporate Office
- The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with occasional additional hours as required

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
