Overview

As a Fibre Optic Technician, you’ll support the installation, maintenance, and repair of fibre-optic and network infrastructure. This hands-on role involves working with telecommunications and telephony systems, including WAN connections and low-voltage equipment, while following safe work practices in varied field settings.

Duties

- Install, inspect, test, and repair fibre-optic cables and related network infrastructure; identify faults and complete repairs carefully.
- Support telecommunications, WAN, and telephony connections, documenting work and reporting issues that need follow-up.
- Use bucket trucks and forklifts safely when required, and perform bucket operation to access elevated work areas.
- Assist with low-voltage electrical tasks and welding related to installation or repair, coordinating work with the team.

Experience

Required: Practical ability to handle tools, follow protected procedures, troubleshoot equipment, and complete accurate work records. Preferred: Electrical experience and familiarity with telecommunications, WAN, low voltage, network infrastructure, welding, or telephony are valuable; forklift and bucket truck operation experience can also support success in the role.

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
